Case Study – St Mary’s Church
On the 15th of April 2024, a small tornado swept through the village of Knutton, uprooting trees, damaging properties and even flipping over a caravan.
One building particularly affected was St Mary’s Church, an 1870s church whose roof was severely damaged by the tornado. The church’s roof is rather large in scale and features a magnificent pattern design that dates back to the building’s original construction, so straight away we knew the project was going to be an extensive undertaking.
Our team quickly got to work restoring the roof and repairing the damage with full consideration of the building’s value to the community and its age. The work required many long days from our team as they balanced the repairs alongside full consideration of the complex nature of the building’s structure.
Today, the roof is now completely restored to its original state, including its stunning patterned design, ensuring that the wider public can once again enjoy this magnificent church.
